day 24 – intricate love
It’s not often I can lay in the grass, but today I did. I lay silently on the edge of the botanic gardens watching the world God created.
When you actually stop and look with unrushed eyes they begin to open. Details you hadn’t noticed before suddenly appear and everything I could see was perfectly and intricately designed.
A bee pollinated the flowers a few inches from my nose. The intricacy of both the flower and the bee were mesmerising to watch. Then ducks came by and fascinated me as I analysed the layers of feathers and their curious waddle. Clouds swirled gracefully in the sky and I could see gorgeous air currents normally invisible. Then the trees…glorious and majestic trees…
Busy lives often mean that we don’t see the intricacy of God’s creation and the love He pours into every detail, but it’s there even if we don’t see it.
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14
What a display of love, that He would knit each one of us together in our mother’s womb!
Lord, open our eyes this weekend to see Your love poured out in all the little details everywhere around us. And thank You, especially for the intricate love you put into creating each of us.
